From the clarion call of John 3:16 to the moment a journey of spiritual refinement is undertaken, the new testament path for every believer is in Jesus as the Christ/Messiah. To be reunited spiritually after a life of options, lessons, choices, and consequences we must have a mediator who knows us intimately from firsthand human experiences. This man must be acceptable to God, Father and Spirit. For this reason, he must be of God, directly. As close as father and son. They must share as one the same holiness, as to be exclusive among all creatures. Such a man was foretold of for millennia. He was witnessed and recorded. For his followers and disciples, He is the key. The way. The “truth and the life.” He is and was with God but agreed to be manifested human incarnate to serve as our substitute in death. He was Holy and came that way to us. Into a world of evil, lies, fabrications and deceit. He lived with men and women without sin. He told us who he is and why he came. His roles and purpose. If we choose to believe his thoughts, words and deeds to be true, He in His power as God will resurrect our spirit to everlasting life with Him. We live in a state of moral and ethical disobedience (‘sin’) by our choices of heart, mind, and body. By believing His story to be true and accurate, we accept his holy role and purpose to fulfill God’s desire to reconcile to Himself all humans who would believe in their hearts, trust with their mind and confess with their mouths; Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 10:9-10,17). Your invitation allows the Holy Spirit of God (Father and Son) to come and abide with you. He will be your aide and counselor and will guide your steps, whenever you ask. However, even with a ‘new spiritual lease on life’ we all die as sinners. For that reason, our stained spirits and souls must be ‘cleansed’ and made new in the image of God’s character and nature. Think of it like refining a precious metal; gold or silver. The metal (spirit) has acquired impurities and debris during its existence and to increase its value, must be made pure again. This is done with extreme heat, until all impurities have been burned away or extinguished. Only then is the quality at its highest value. It’s the same way with the spirited soul of the believer and follower of Christ. The impurities gained over a lifetime must be removed by the intense fire of the unconditional burning love Christ has for his believers. Just as gold and silver reach its quality zenith through the refining fire and flames, so too the ‘sinner’ is refined to be new again to the highest possible quality (John 3:7, 15). When we die our spirited soul leaves our bodies to return to Christ’s glory. We are ‘cleansed’ of our sins in the refining fire of God’s love through Jesus’ sacrifice for our spiritual redemption and reconciliation. We now know how to get from here to there. All the best, Branch Isole
