What is Spiritual grounding? Why is spiritual strength a ‘game changer’? What is it? Where does it come from? How does one get it, and keep it active? First and foremost, having an active and ever strengthening (growing) spiritual connection brings balance to your life. Are there trade-offs? Yes. As with every decision or choice we are presented with daily, but more balance means a more fulfilling life. How can a spiritual presence guide, aid, or counsel? How does a growing spirituality bring balance to a chaotic, stressed life? We live ‘pressure cooker’ lifestyles, leaving little time for anything other than “keeping up.” American life was once rooted in “keeping up with the Jones’.” Now for many its “keeping up to survive the day.” The trauma and drama of modern life can be hectic. Many forget their life is designed to be more than job, career or family indebtedness. At our essence we are spirit, manifested in a corporeal body. We are spiritual energy at our core existing beneath layers of who we think we are, (presenting to the world). “To Be, or Not To Be” was Hamlet’s question. The question for those living close to the prophesied end times is ‘Whether to engage Christ, or not’? This is fundamentally the question in every life. In the coming years we will each confront and select how active our spirituality will be. We are each a living soul. An ‘energy packet’ with an ‘active’ or ‘inactive’ spirit. An inactive spirit is exactly that; ‘inactive.’ Having little or no interaction with mind and body. Existing yes, but only as a ‘place holder.’ An ‘active’ spirit is active in degrees. On our paths in life we are all at different stages, as are our spirits. We can have a fleeting awareness at one end of the spectrum, while others may have ‘full immersion’ at the other end. Irrespective of ‘where’ one is on their spiritual journey, life’s baseline condition is an active spirit in concert and communication with the Holy Trinity of Christ, or not. When God’s Spirit lives within us, no matter the degree of our voluntary immersion, His Spirit lives for us as guide and counselor. (John 14:26) When we invite the ‘Word’ of God’s Spirit (Jesus) to abide with us, it’s accepted and never rescinded. We may turn aside but He will never abandon us after He has accepted our invitation of a surrendered heart. Where the Spirit of the Lord lives, He strengthens mind, body, and spirit. Think of the Lord’s living Spirit within you as a cosmic GPS. Every time you are faced with stress, struggle, and conflict, stop. Before you respond take a breath and ask yourself. ‘What would God have me do in this situation?’ When His Spirit abides with you, He will answer. This He promises. His Spirit will guide your thoughts. His Spirit will give yours the strength and power to respond as He would have you do. His Spirit will show you the truth. His truth will give you counsel to avoid the impending hole of adversity. It’s always easier to step around a hole than dig yourself out. God’s Spirit through belief in Christ offers you the path from adversity. Whether you hear, actually listen or respond is up to you. Once Christ’s spirit is with you, He is always there for you. It’s up to you to decide if you’ll choose the Lord’s way or repeat the ‘old pattern response’ which hasn’t worked so many times before. Christ’s Spirit within, is your spiritual grounding. His Spirit responding, is your spiritual strength. The more you desire and allow your spirit to grow in His, the more embolden your understanding of the world will become.
