END TIMES SERIES Part 2

Picture
In Part 1 of this series we identified a long-sought answer or way, to insure spiritual survival in the coming last days, or ‘end times.’ For a moment I’d like to go back to my previous mention of bible prophesy. ‘Prophesy’ is defined as, ‘to say that a specific thing or event will happen in the future.” A prophesy can only be ‘true’ if it actually happens according to its predisposed accuracy.

Of the 31,124 verses in the Bible 8,352 verses contain, describe, relate or pertain to 1817 prophesies.*

One of the complaints or criticisms of the Bible by its adversaries revolves around questions of its authenticity. Many, if not most Bible believers maintain the Word(s) of God are true, for God can not be a liar and still be God. This means every one of its 1,817 prophesies must be true and must come to pass as proclaimed. If even one prophesy fails to become reality, then that prophesy is false, and therefore every prophesy, nay, every word of scripture would be false as well! That’s a pretty big order to fill. Over twenty-six percent of the Bible is prophetic and, of the 1817 prophesies in scripture not one has been proven untrue or failed to come to pass up to this point in time/history.

Think of it like this: the odds of fulfilling only eight (of the 1,817) specific prophesies is; 1 in 10 to the 17th power. That number looks like this- 100,000,000,000,000,000. Another way to visualize this would be to take a single silver dollar and place an X on it. Then take that silver dollar and put it among the other 99,999,999,999,999,999 unmarked silver dollars. This is enough coins to cover the entire state of Texas, two feet deep. Now ask a man or woman to find the single marked silver dollar. Those are the same odds of eight specific biblical prophesies coming true. Interestingly enough, every bible prophesy has come true and as of today there are only a limited number of prophesies left unfulfilled. What makes bible prophesies even more incredible is the sixty-six Old Testament and New Testament canonical texts were written by forty authors, over a span of twenty-five hundred years. And so far, every bible prophesy has come to pass as foretold by these different writers.

As an example, here are thirty-five notable bible prophesies that speak to Jesus of Nazareth and his role/purpose as the Christ:

1. Matthew 24:33 Many will be deceived and reject the word of God through false prophets and teachers.
2. Isaiah 11:11, Luke 21  There will be a regathering of Jews to Israel.
3. Isaiah 56:8  While the Jews are gone from Israel (2000 years) the land will be desolate and waste.
4. Israel will become a nation in one day (this happened on May 14, 1948).
5. Israel will flourish economically.
6. Luke 21:24 Jerusalem will be in Israeli hands in the last days (this happened as a result of the “Six Day War” 1967).
7. Psalm 83  Israel will be surrounded by its neighbors and enemies united against it.
8. Israel will be supernaturally protected by God, (during the coming Ezekiel War).
9. Daniel 11:39, Joel 3:2  Attempts will be made to partition Israel. (UN resolution 2334)
10. Ezekiel 44:1-3 Jesus will enter through the ‘Eastern Gate’ upon His return, (it is currently sealed closed and has been since 1541).
11. Hosea 3:4 Israel will have no king until Jesus returns.
12. The Third Jewish Temple will be rebuilt.
13. Ezekiel 38-39 Iran will come against Israel in armed conflict.
14. Ezekiel 38-39 Turkey will come against Israel in armed conflict.
15. Ezekiel 38-39 Russia will come against Israel in armed conflict.
16. 1 Thessalonians 5:3 There will be a global outcry for Peace and Security.
17. Isaiah 17:1 & Isaiah 17:14 Damascus, Syria will be destroyed and uninhabitable.
18. Revelation 11 & Revelation 17:8 The entire world will witness/see the end times events, (via television and Internet).
19. Matthew 24:22, Zachariah 14:12 Destruction will come in the forms of biological, chemical and nuclear.
20. Luke 21:25 Chaotic weather worldwide.
21. Wars and violence worldwide.
22. Revelation & Daniel  Global government
23. Daniel 12:4 People will travel ‘to and fro.’
24. Daniel 12:4 Explosion of information and knowledge.
25. Revelation 13:16 Technology will make the ‘Mark of the Beast’ possible.
26. Luke 21, Revelation 6 Pestilence and famine worldwide.
27. Joel Signs in the heavens (sun & moon).
28. Two hundred-million-man army from the east (Asia).
29. Earthquakes and tsunamis worldwide.
30. Extensive sexual immorality worldwide.
31. Self-love, self-indulgence, self-centeredness worldwide.
32. Apostasy in the church (large numbers of fallen away).

END TIMES SERIES PART 1

Picture
We live in exciting and tumultuous times. The events and news cycle reports change daily, sometimes even faster. It’s often difficult to keep up with aspects that may or may not have an impact on our individual lives, particularly when we are attempting to make a living, engage our family members and juggle our work or career demands.

Getting caught up in the fast and furious pace of post-modern life makes not only the days fly by, it also keeps us focused on our efforts and energy to compete, excel and yes, even sometimes simply to survive until tomorrow arrives.

Whether we are familiar with any potential fallout from conflicts taking place on the opposite side of the planet or not, which seem a world away while having little or no effect on us, we need to be aware of their particular importance to our future health and wellbeing. Whether or not one agrees with the current administration’s decisions in the middle east region, specifically regarding the Syrian war, biblical prophesy alerts us to a reality that Syria plays a major role in “end times” events.

As a reader of novels, I developed an odd habit while in the Army. I would read the last page of the story first. Why? I can’t say. Call it a peculiarity. For this piece and series, I have chosen to share with readers the ‘last page’ first. In this way you will have the direction and answer to the ultimate question of the coming end times.
Here it is; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 and Romans 10:9-10, & 17.

When the prophesied events of the ‘last days’ unfold, the decision we each make will be dependent on our belief and commitment to this faith description.

Before we proceed let me reassure you, I am not trying to scare or frighten. That’s not the point of this series. I share this information solely so you and your family will be able to accept and understand the magnitude and significance of the events we may see in our lifetime and know how to respond. Second, I am not predicting any timetable for these things to occur. As part of bible prophesy, I can assure you they will in fact take place, but again, their timings are unknown. There are several indications that these 'end times' events have and are happening now and will happen continuously in the future building to a crescendo of enormity. As unbelievable as these events may appear, we can take heart that we are prepared.

Whether or not you believe any of the following is up to you. What you do with this information is also up to you. I offer it only as an attempt to serve both you, and the Lord God's spirit who guides believers.

Ultimately each of us will make a choice of consequence. Likewise, we will each know when that moment arrives for us to decide and declare where and with whom we will stand. As I mentioned above, we live in tumultuous times. Many people discount the bible in general and more specifically bible prophesy. But before you dismiss out of hand what I’m about to share with you consider this:
The entirety of the Bible is about Jesus Christ. That’s right, the focus of both the Old and New Testaments revolve around the person and spirit of Jesus of Nazareth; the Christ, the Messiah. The Old Testament is about his coming and relationship with humankind, the New Testament is about his role(s) and purpose(s) for his believers and followers.

So, what does all this have to do with you and your family? If you’re familiar with my writing you know my answer to the question, ‘Why are we here?’ is: to come to know (of) God, and then, come to know Him again through Jesus the Christ. But what does this have to do with ‘end times’ and how does it apply to us? God asks nothing of us, other than we decide. “Will we follow and walk a path that leads our spirit (and life) to Him? Or, will we choose to turn from Him and His offer of eternal life to follow and walk the world’s way?” For each of us this becomes our ultimate and final question to be answered.

Let me change gears for a moment. If you are a parent or grandparent the most important people in your life are your children and/or grandchildren, followed perhaps by friends, relatives and confidants. As such we may feel certain responsibilities for their safety and security. What if I shared information that could not only save them from terrible despair and danger, but will save them (and you) from eternal separation with the Holy Trinity of God?

Since the completion of my book “Breaking Free” my studies the last few years has been focused on ‘end times’ prophesies. Watching events unfold around the world has been a spark of realization that we are indeed in the described ‘end times.’ It’s easy to understand how and why many people miss or are unaware of the importance of events taking place right before our eyes, hidden in plain view. There are various reasons for this. For many, much of bible scripture is unknown, for multiple reasons too numerous to list. If you are one of these people, take heart. Although there are many places to learn or find this information, let me reassure you that this series is presented without condition or expectation.
I am not trying to convince or convert. I am not trying to make you believe or choose. My purpose is to serve. Serve you and your family and friends, so when you see these world events unfold in the coming years, you’ll remember what the answer you’re looking for is, and why. Remember the ‘last page’ links above? If you read no further and do nothing, please read and refer to these two scripture references when ‘that time’ comes.

In the Hawaiian language,  "Mana'o" (ma na o) is the word used to describe 'thoughts, ideas, and opinions'.
